ELECTRO-POP duo Gefahrgeist will release their second single in the form of Nukula later this month.

Following on from the success of their debut track Graceless, the pair return with an apocalyptic elegy, taking listeners into the mechanics of human destruction.

Gefahrgeist is a partnership between Glasgow singer-songwriter Fiona Liddell and producer and bass player Niall Rae, from Aberdeen.

The new single also features cello from Edinburgh musician Graeme Coe (The Jellyman’s Daughter) and was mastered by Phil McBride (Midi Paul).

Nukula peels back the curtain on death, telling the story of the world inside a nuclear explosion from the perspective of the man who pushed the button.

It exudes a sense of guilt eerily similar to the infamous Robert Oppenheimer interview in which he quotes a line from the Bhagavad Gita: “Now I am become Death, the Destroyer of Worlds”.

The atmospheric textures paint the journey of someone stumbling in the carnage-laden wake of their ill-fated decisions.

Nukula will be available on and Apple Music from January 29 and can be pre-saved on Distrokid - those doing so will receive a preview link on Soundcloud.
