AYRSHIRE duo La Club Royale are bringing some serious Vibes with the release of their latest single.

The pair – Lyle Kennedy and Connor Adam – are riding a bit of a wave since they unveiled their first track in March this year.

And not only will they follow up with Vibes later this week, there are plans for further new releases over the next few months.

The future may well be bright for the duo, but they will be content to live in the moment as they look to kickstart a productive summer with the upcoming release.

"We wrote Vibes at the tail end of 2020," Kennedy tells The Weekender. "Connor, being his creative self, came up with the feel-good music first and let me hear it and I just felt as though the lyrics should reflect that dance/80s groove feel.

"It's really about being on a dancefloor in a nightclub having a dance-off with someone...something a lot of us have missed out on the past year with Covid – not that we're any good at dancing."

"We just hope that people like it as much as, if not more, than we do. We want people to enjoy it and, hopefully, brings them a bit of happiness especially after the year we've all had.

"The ideal response would be making it into the charts with Vibes and getting played on more major radio stations."

The track comes hot on the heels of Rise Up, the debut single from La Club Royale.

"The Rise Up response was class" Kennedy adds. "For it being our first song as well. We did not expect it to be played on Radio X, big up to John Kennedy for that, and also a big thank you to everyone who has supported us so far.

"We're just keeping our heads down and releasing music which was the plan so the project is on track so far and anything else along the way is a bonus."

He adds: "After Vibes we will have a video released for the song, then we have a few remixes being released and then we're looking to have at least another two or three tracks released over the summer, which is exciting.

"I think these tracks follow the same path as Vibes, sound-wise, with that electronic dance feel, but with some hard-hitting and honest lyrics."

With the prospect of a formidable setlist to hand, the band may well have been looking to hit the stage. But that show might have to wait for a while yet.

Kennedy says: "All I can say on this one is: No LCR gigs for 2021, we're aiming for 2022.

"Where our first gig would be is another mystery, but we're hoping that it will be special and that it will be packed out."

Vibes will be available from Friday, June 4.
