Central AC athletes Amy Gullen, Cameron Wilson, Bevhan Trevis and Emily Greenan all won medals as they helped Scotland to victory in the Celtic Games international against Wales and Ireland.

Amy Gullen of Muckhart was on superb form as she smashed her personal best to win the under 16 girls High Jump. The windy conditions made jumping difficult but Amy managed a new lifetime best of 1.62m at the 2nd attempt. With Elizabeth Morland of Ireland over 1st time this put Amy in 2nd. She then went even higher clearing 1.65m at the first attempt to take victory, and equal the club under 17 record. This performance now places Amy 15th in the UK under 17 rankings for the year.

Bevhan Trevis of Clackmannan was rewarded with her international debut after making huge progress this season in the discus. And she repaid the faith the selectors put in her with another big personal best 33.07m in the final round to take silver in the under 16 girls event. This distance not only improves her club record but now moves her into 5th in the UK under 15 rankings which means she will travel to the UK championships later this month as a realistic medal prospect.

Dunblane's Emily Greenan was also on form in the under 18 1500m Steeplechase. There was some confusion in her race as the bell was rung a lap early but Emily kept her concentration, aware she still had 2 laps to run, paced herself well and took 2nd in an excellent time of 5:29.46 just missing her club record.

Cameron Wilson of Bannockburn produced another solid performance in the under 18 Triple Jump with a best of 12.09m in the 1st round for 3rd.

Every point the Central athletes won proved crucial as Scotland took the victory over Ireland by a single point. Well done to all. You have done the club and Scotland proud.
