FRASER Duncan has swiftly moved to assuage fans’ fears that he may be leaving Sauchie Juniors after he was heavily linked with the vacant manager’s position at Camelon Juniors this week.

The role at the helm of the side who eliminated Sauchie from the Scottish Cup last month has been vacant since Danny Smith left the club for Linlithgow Rose a few weeks ago and rumours have been picking up momentum ever since that Fraser could be the man to move to Carmuirs Park.

But the current encumbent at Beechwood Park has dismissed the speculation about his future, saying he still has work to do at Sauchie.

He said, “Obviously you’re going to get linked with jobs that come up but I’ve got a lot to do at this club, a lot of work. I want to stay here and I would never think about leaving the club at the minute.

“The hard work I’ve done over the years has put me in a position where I want to keep building on that, and with the 21s and 19s coming through I want to push on and get a bit of a flourish from them. I came in here with a big project and it’s nowhere near finished yet, there’s still a lot of work to be done.

“It’s one of the biggest clubs in junior football I think, we just need to get the results showing on the park and we’ve been doing that in recent years. Camelon isn’t a job that interests me. There’s a lot of great players in the team but it’s not for me.”
