Alloa Rugby Football Club held its first summer rugby camp last week and it proved a great success as over 40 local children had a fantastic time.

Participants enjoyed an action-packed week honing their rugby skills under the watchful eye of coaches and volunteers.

They were also treated to specialist skills sessions hosted throughout the week by former Alloa RFC youth players, Stuart Edwards (Heriots FP) and Sean Kennedy (Edinburgh Gunners). The week was rounded off with a real highlight in the form of two very special visitors; Scotland’s newly capped Kevin Bryce and Scotland captain, Grant Gilchrist.

The kids had the opportunity to chat to the lads on what it means to play for Scotland and got some excellent tips for the future.

Grant and Kevin also delighted some of the kids by presenting them with improved player of the week awards and no one was missed out as each child received a special Alloa RFC goodie bag.
