Alva swimmer Gavin Miller was the toast of Clackmannanshire as he enjoyed a stellar weekend in the pool, taking no less than eight gold medals across two swimming galas.
The talented 16-year-old, who began swimming competitively at the age of ten, took the Grangemouth school gala by storm on Friday 25 September, before doing the same at an event in Dalkeith two days later.
Gavin, who has also competed on the national stage at the 2013 Special Olympics national games in Bath, where he won three gold medals, kicked off his weekend in style with a gold medal in the 100m freestyle, before finishing second to take the silver medal in the 50m breaststroke.
He went on to win gold in both the 50m backstroke before also emerging triumphant from the water following the 50m butterfly.
His younger brother Adam was also competing in the Grangemouth gala, and he too was successful, winning gold in the 25m breastroke and 50m freestyle and silver in the 25m backstroke to add to what was already a great weekend for the siblings.
Things got even better for Gavin two days later as he took five more gold medals at the Lothian Special Olympics Swimming Gala in Dalkeith.
He started his day with in style with victory in the 50m butterfly, a sign of the success that would follow later in the day.
Gavin backed that up by winning the gold medal in the 50m backstroke as he proved too strong for the other competitors.
Gold followed again in the 100m freestyle before he competed in two relay events, the freestyle and butterfly.
Gavin and his team-mates took gold in both events to close out a successful weekend in style and ensure the Wee County star went home with a clean sweep of the medals from the day.
The youngster has also been selected, along with several others from Arion swimming club in Stirling, to compete in the 2017 Special Olympics, which will be held in Sheffield from 8-12 August.
