DARREN Cummings has wasted little time in preparing Sauchie for life in the Premier Division as he tied up his first summer signings.

Goalkeeper Darren Dolan and midfielders Dylan Taylor and Craig Donaldson have all put pen to paper on extensions at Beechwood Park with more expected to follow in the coming days.

Ross Crawford, who finished last season as top goalscorer, Mark Finlayson and Aiden McKeown are among those believed to have already verbally agreed new deals.

And talks are continuing between Cummings, co-caretaker boss Darren Petrie and a number of players already at Sauchie and beyond in a bid to prepare the side for next season.

Cummings said: "Things are coming along nicely and beginning to take shape.

"Some are just not sure what they are doing but we will continue to talk over the next few days.

"It's good to have them signed up already as we have only really had a few days to get them up and get them signed."

Meanwhile, the striker revealed he is set to hang the boots up after nearly a decade in the Wee County.

The 34-year-old has been a mainstay at the club, minus a short spell at Bo'ness, but believes it could be time to turn his attention to coaching.

"It's time maybe to hang up the boots," he said. "I'm too injury prone and my big focus now is on the coaching side of things.

"I want to get my coaching badges and then take it from there.

"But I'll probably be some of player coach so I can be used if there's an injury crisis."
