TOP performers were few and far between for Alloa as Arbroath ran out winners in Clacks on Saturday.

Neil Parry made some crucial interventions and the introduction of Robert Thomson also caught the eye.

But Liam Dick proved to be best played in Black and Gold, in what was an afternoon of very few positives for Peter Grant's men.

Neil Parry...................................6

A couple of solid saves at the start and helpless for the goal. Distribution was slack at times and almost cost a goal.

Jon Robertson...........................5

A tough day against the wonderfully talented Bobby Linn. Did well to support rare Alloa attacks.

Scott Taggart............................5

Slotted into the slot vacated by Andy Graham but struggled to have the same influence as the skipper.

Robbie Deas............................5

After the Morton game, would have hoped for an easier home debut but once again a baptism of fire. Did as well as he could.

Liam Dick......(star man).........6

Dick provided plenty of width and enterprising runs going forward and was the best of a disappointing bunch.

Iain Flannigan.........................5

Never exerted his usual influence on the ball and often found himself outnumbered.

Steven Hetherington...............4

Moved to the right of the three in what looked like an effort to stifle Bobby Linn. Didn’t work and the Englishman’s day went from bad to worse when he was sent off for a second yellow.

Alan Trouten...........................6

Arguably the most threatening attacker and did his usual to find pockets of space between midfield and attack.

Kevin Cawley.........................5

Peter Grant admitted after he had perhaps rushed the midfielder back and Cawley was far from his best.

Liam Buchanan (off 58)........6

Unfortunate to be the first man hauled off as it could have been anyone in truth. Hit the side net with an early second half effort.

Kevin O’Hara........................5

A couple of lovely bits of play in the second half, including an excellent reverse pass for Buchanan.

Andrew Stirling (on 70).........5

Unlucky to see his first touch blocked.

Robert Thomson (on 58)........6

In many ways, he was Alloa’s best attacker and teed up Andy Stirling for an excellent chance.
