ANOTHER successful night for Tullibody's Submission Factory Fight Team saw two of the team compete at a Glasgow event last Saturday, February 22.

The team are based at the Scottish Martial Arts Centre in Tullibody and competed at the Evolution of Combat show in Glasgow.

First up on the night, in his first K1 kickboxing contest, was Jimmy McCallum who was up against the more experienced Alex Burns who hails from East Kilbride Mixed Martial Arts. Jimmy was able to push the pace and land the more damaging strikes to get the unanimous decision on the judges score card. After this victory Jimmy is now 1-0 in Boxing, K1 and MMA after just a little more than one year of training.

Next up to represent the team was Alloa's Shaun Conway coming fresh off his gold medal winning performance at The Scottish Cup of BJJ just one week previous.

This was Shaun's first time competing in MMA and was up against Remek Mariusson, an Icelandic fighter with more experience than Shaun.

However, the Wee County fighter was able to dominate the match from the opening bell, cutting his opponent in the first striking exchange and scoring a take-down where he controlled the remainder of the round.

Shaun continued to overwhelm his opponent for the rest of the fight coming very close to getting the finish on several occasions but nonetheless was awarded the victory on the judge's score cards by unanimous decision.
