BBC SCOTLAND’S flagship football programme Sportscene is to return to its Saturday night television slot for the first time since 2002, the broadcaster has announced.
Football fans will now get the chance to watch highlights from Premiership matches just hours after they take place instead of having to wait until Sunday evening.
The Friday Championship and Sunday Sportscene programmes will also continue, as will the Saturday afternoon results show, as part of their coverage.
The Premiership returns on August 1, while the other three divisions are scheduled to begin on October 17.
A BBC spokesperson said: “Sportscene, BBC Scotland’s flagship football programme, will return on Saturday evenings this season for the first time since 2002.”
