ALLOA Athletic will start the new season with a trip to Greenock Morton when football returns. 

The Wasps will then host Dunfermline Athletic at the Recs before visiting Heart of Midlothian to complete the month.  The Tyncastle fixture is due to be postponed, however, with the Jam Tarts playing in the Scottish Cup semi-finals that weekend. 

The Championship season will get underway October 17 with teams playing each other only three times due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Peter Grant's side will play their third consecutive season in the Scottish second-tier after securing their place by finishing eighth last term ahead of Partick Thistle and Queen of the South. 

Hearts, whose relegation to the league was confirmed this week, will visit the Recs in January and host Alloa again in April ahead of an exciting run-in.

Alloa will end the season on April 30 by hosting Dunfermline Athletic, who the part-timers agreed a first of it's kind Covid-19 partnership with this week which will see the clubs share resources throughout the season. 

BBC Scotland will broadcast 20 matches across the campaign on Friday evenings and the list will be released in due course.

The Wasps will also compete in the Betfred Cup, which is due to begin on October 6 subject to clubs agreeing the date.
