Alloa have failed to make it past the group stages of the competition in the last three seasons, finishing second behind Hibernian in 2019.
They did reach the quarter-finals in 2016/17 under Jack Ross, however, with the Wasps putting in an impressive display against Celtic, before late goals from James Forrest and Moussa Dembele decided the Parkhead contest.
Highland and Lowland league clubs Brora Rangers and Kelty Hearts have also been included in this year's competition.

Reigning champions Celtic will be looking for their fifth league cup in succession when they enter the competition after the group stages.
Fellow European challengers Rangers, Aberdeen and Motherwell will also join the competition at the last 16 stage.
The Wasps will also return to league action in October when they travel to Morton on the 17th for their opening Championship fixture.
Teams will only play one another three times this season with the campaign reduced due to the pandemic.
Alloa will also participate in the Scottish Cup and the Challenge Cup.
