PETER GRANT is on the verge of securing his second signing of the pre-season ahead of football's return in October.
The Wasps boss is hopeful of landing Hibernian youngster Innes Murray on a loan move to the Championship part-timers.
It's understood Grant was set to bolster his squad with the addition of the winger after Advertiser Sport went to press.
Murray, 22, can play on either side of the midfield and previously spent time on loan at Airdrieonians and Stenhousemuir.
A former Celtic youngster, he was named on the bench for the Hoops in Challenge Cup ties in 2016 and played for the Glasgow side in the UEFA Youth League.
His arrival would follow the capture of Nicky Jamieson after the centre-back arrived from League Two Queen's Park last month.
Meanwhile, Alloa will kick start their season with an away trip midweek to face Airdrie in the Betfred Cup.
Alloa, who are in Group H alongside the Lanarkshire outfit, visit The Penny Cars Stadium on Wednesday, October 7.
They'll then head to Livingston on Saturday, October 10, before welcoming Edinburgh City to the Recs on Tuesday, October 13.
They then round off their Betfred Cup campaign at home to Stenhousemuir Saturday, November 14.
