THREE winners were crowned at Alloa Golf Club last weekend including a man winning a title he first won 22 years ago.

Ian Guthrie won his first club championship against Kris Glass in a very competitive and exciting match. Ian started well and held a three-hole advantage after the morning round.

As round two started, he extended this to five up after 23 holes. But, just as he began to relax, Kris started his comeback and caught up to just one down with nine to play.

More holes were exchanged before Ian ran out the champion on the 17th green.

Meanwhile, Morag Hunter claimed her first Ladies Club Championship after a pulsating match against Isobel Gibson.

In a very close match it came down to who could hold their nerve best on the last hole and, despite both ladies missing the green, a superb up and down for Morag saw her crowned champion.

Finally, in the second division, John Pearcy rolled back the years and reclaimed the title he won first in 1999 after defeating John Clark.

In yet another close and exciting match it went right down the last hole.

Both players were faced with a tough tee shot into the wind on the long par three and John Clark left his tee shot out to the right and found and unplayable lie.

John Pearcy capitalised on this and scored a four to lift the trophy.
