SAUCHIE JUNIORS’ league season started with a defeat at the weekend.
Despite taking an early lead through Conor Kelly, the Wee County side were defeated 3-1 by visitors Dunbar United.
Fraser Duncan’s men took the lead within the first five minutes however Nicky Weir equalised before Andy Jones fired them into the lead on a gloriously sunny day at Beechwood Park.
Michael McFarlane then scored their third in the second half to seal the three points and leave Sauchie in 14th place in the East of Scotland Premier Division League.
Tonight, Sauchie travel to Musselburgh looking for three points to kick-start a league campaign which Duncan has high hopes for and is aiming to see his side finish at least in the top five.
Sauchie’s next home match is against Blackburn United on Tuesday, July 27 at 7.30pm.
