STEVEN BOYD'S Alloa career is over after he refused a contract from the club.
Boyd was one of Barry Ferguson's first signings last summer as the club looked to immediately bounce back into the Scottish Championship.
The former Peterhead man was a mainstay in the team and also featured heavily for Brian Rice after he took over from Ferguson.
However, the winger has refused the club's latest contract offer and now looks set to play his football elsewhere next season.
Rice, speaking exclusively to Advertiser Sport, said: "Steven’s refused a contract, we couldn’t agree terms. I wanted to keep him, I done everything I could to keep him.
"I offered him the best offer I could make him and he decided that he could earn more money elsewhere.
He done fantastically well, I had him at Hamilton.
"He done great for me here [at Alloa] as well.
"I would have loved to keep Steven but financially I couldn’t."
