MURRAY MILLER says Alloa is the perfect step in his football journey and is looking forward to the league season starting this weekend.

Miller featured for the Wasps in pre-season and his loan move from Rangers B was confirmed earlier this month.

The youngster started in Saturday’s draw with Dunfermline and is clearly enjoying his time in the Wee County.

Speaking exclusively to Advertiser Sport, he said: “I’m loving it so far. Obviously, it’s a new challenge for me going into proper adult football and I’m loving it, I’m loving the challenge.

“It was just that next step up in my career. Alloa and the gaffer provided so many good points in how to get to that next level and I just think Alloa’s the perfect place to be for me to make that next step.

“Obviously I knew how good he is with younger boys, bringing them up and giving them game time. He didn’t even need to sell it to me because I already knew so much.

“It was just good [knowing] he wants me to come here and express myself and hopefully I can do that for the season.

With pre-season and the Premier Sports Cup finished, all eyes are now on the league opener against Dunfermline on Saturday.

Miller said: “[I’m] really enjoying it so far.

“All the guys are really good, because they’re all so positive it’s really good.

“This is my second stint in a proper professional season so I’m really excited for it.”
