THERE was a fine display of controlled football as Alloa Athletic Junior Academy 2008s won their League Cup final last week.

The young Wasps, led by coach Alex Brown, demolished Dunbeth FC at Ochilview Park on Friday, January 27, winning 6-1.

It was a fine display with every player contributing to an emphatic display in front of a large crowd of parents and supporters.

While it is never easy losing out in the final, both the Dunbeth players and coaches conducted themselves impeccably.

The game was observed by two of the Club Academy Scotland U16 coaches from Alloa Athletic who went on to offer Aiden Kilday and James Docherty a place in the CAS squad for the new season.

They are also keeping a close eye on several other Junior Academy players who are being offered additional training and trial games over the coming weeks with every chance of selection to the Club Academy.

It shows what development football is about under the club's Player Pathway – a clearly defined route for young people to maximise their potential and progress as far as they can in the game.

Coaches congratulated all involved, those signed and offered thanks to the CSFA for organising as well as Dunbeth FC for playing in good spirit.
