THERE were displays of athletic prowess at Alloa's West End Park as pupils from the wider area gathered for cross country races.
The Wee County hosted the Forth Valley Primary and Secondary Cross Country Championships on Thursday, March 9, with young people from across Clackmannanshire, Stirling and Falkirk schools attending.
Pupils taking part previously qualified as the top runners in respective county events before being invited to represent their schools in the regionals.
P6-7 pupils took on the primary school race, negotiating a one-mile mixed-terrain course.
The secondary school event saw young people from S1-6 take part with a mixed-terrain course of 1.5 miles.
Despite the cold weather conditions, the course was able to cope with the event while the temperatures could not discourage the nearly 300 pupils who took part across the two events.
