MARK DURNAN insists it’s important for Alloa to take each game as it comes as they enter the final push for playoff spots.

The Wasps beat Peterhead 2-0 over the weekend to continue their run of form and to keep their position in third place ahead of a crunch tie with Airdrie.

As Alloa gear up for the final six games this season, Durnan has said the victory in Peterhead was a massive result for the Wasps.

He told Advertiser Sport: “The three points at Peterhead keeps us on a good run, keeps us building momentum for the end of the season.

“We had a bit of quality with LD [Luke Donnelly] to get the first goal and we knew it was going to be a hard game and they made it difficult for us but first and foremost we got the three points.

“When you’re wanting to go for the playoffs, these are the type of places you need to go and get the results. It’s a massive three points for us.”

Alloa’s form sees them sit in third place, only two points ahead of Airdrie in fourth, who pay a visit to the Recs this Saturday, in what is a must win for Alloa.

“We’ve got six games left, “Durnan added. “It’s a bit of an old cliché but we just need to take the games one a time.

“We’ve got Airdrie at the weekend so we’ll be focusing all our interests on that.

"Six massive games left for us. Hopefully, we’ll be in those playoffs.”
