ALLOA ATHLETIC celebrated some of the season’s success this week with their Players of the Season awards.

The players gathered round at the side of the pitch to receive the three awards, following their match against Falkirk.

Taking into account two games to go, the season has been successful for Alloa so far. The Wasps, at the time of writing, sit in fourth place, sandwiched in between full-time teams in the top half of the table.

Alloa currently have 54 points, beating their total from last season, where they finished in fifth place on 45 points.

The Wasps are on track to secure a playoff spot and fight for a chance to be promoted to the Scottish Championship, needing just one point in their next two games.

With the season coming to a close, awards were handed out to players for a number of achievements.

Top Goal Scorer for the 2022-23 season was awarded to Conor Sammon, who sits head and shoulders above the rest in the standings, currently sitting on 16 goals across all competitions.

Goal of the Season was awarded to Ross MacIver for his incredible last-minute header against Queen of the South.

Player of the Season was given to Scott Taggart, a pivotal figure at the back line, featuring in almost every game this season until he was injured two weeks ago against Kelty Hearts.
