BRIAN MORGAN hailed another huge win for Sauchie, as the Reds fired five past Luncarty over the weekend.

Morgan was on hand to score a brace against the 10-man Fife side in a performance which saw Sauchie run rings around them.

Speaking to Advertiser Sport, Morgan said he relished being able to drift deeper into the attack, resulting in two goals.

He said: “We got another good win at the weekend against a team that are quite stuffy.

“They started well as we expected but we knew that if we matched their energy and be patient, our quality would show.

“It helped with them going down to ten men and it allowed me to play a bit more freely in terms of getting higher up the park.

“They went to just one up top, so playing that deeper holding role wasn’t required from me as much.”

“Delighted to score a couple and chip in and it’s something I’d like to do more of as it’s what I’m more used to doing.

“Another great win for the boys and hopefully we can build on this.”

The win against Luncarty continued Sauchie’s excellent run of form of late, securing their third clean sheet in a row.

The Reds have scored 12 goals in their last three matches, with their last goal conceded coming in a 1-1 draw with Broxburn at the end of August.

Sauchie certainly look back to being the team we saw at the end of last season, tight at the back and firing at the front.

Their season started roughly, with heavy losses to Dunbar and Hutchison Vale setting a nervy tone going forward.

Sauchie turned things around with their 1-0 win over Tynecastle and since then have been unstoppable in both league and cup competitions.

Fraser Duncan’s side will now look forward to getting back to a cup competition, with the second round tie against East Stirlingshire coming up this Friday.

This will be another tough fixture for the Reds, with East Stirlingshire competing one tier above in the Lowland League.
