FRASER DUNCAN praised the depth and quality of his Sauchie side as five different players got on the scoresheet against Kinnoull.

The Reds hosted the Perth side at Beechwood as they look to continue their good run of form from previous games.

Goals from Jack Docherty, Lewis Payne, Danny Smith, Ross Kavanagh and Jack Thomson earned Sauchie a well deserved three points, with the only blip being the loss of a clean sheet by one goal.

The Reds gaffer was delighted with the performance and the momentum his team have built in recent games.

“We knew Kinnoull had just been promoted,” he told Advertiser Sport. “It can be a tricky one and they’ve been going through a rough spell with results.

“We wanted to put out a professional performance and go about our business the right way and we did that.

“We wanted three points, we wanted to keep a clean sheet and we wanted to score a few goals to improve our goal difference.

“We got two out of three, they scored a good goal so I can’t complain too much. We dominated the game, kept the ball from start to finish.

“I’m really happy to get five goals from five different goal scorers, really shows we’ve got goals all over the park at the minute.

“Hopefully that kicks a few boys on to go and score a few more.”

Despite the many positives from the day, a slight setback for Sauchie was Sam Davidson picking up an injury.

Duncan provided an injury update on Davidson and Brian Morgan, who was confirmed to have picked up an injury against Crossgates the week before.

Duncan added: “We made changes before the game, we took three out and put three in, we tried to rest a few people for this one.

“Only bad news is Sam Davidson got injured on Saturday, we gave him a rest then put him on for the last half hour or so.

“He’s rolled his ankle and picked up an injury so he could be out for a week or two. That’s the only real bad news from the weekend.

“Morgy’s hurt his shoulder, he’s going to be another two or three weeks away. It looks like he’s done ligament damage to his shoulder.

“We’re going to be without him the next week, it’s a big miss, a big loss as is Sam Davidson. That’s a couple of our big players out.

“But, we’ve definitely got enough strength in the squad to go and do well. These players makes a difference for us and will be missed but we’ve got boys who can go into their positions and do well.

“That’s what having a good squad is all about.”

Next up for Sauchie is a visit from Glenrothes, with the gaffer looking to collect another three points before two tough away games at Jeanfield and Musselburgh.

“Five goals, five different goal scorers, big three points up on the board," said Duncan. "The league is starting to look a bit better now.

“This week, it’s a vital game at home against Glenrothes, we can’t afford to drop points here in these games.”
