TWO talented local siblings will be on the card this weekend when professional boxing visits Alloa Town Hall for the first time in 90 years.

Brothers Taylor and Sean Coyle, whose dad, Jamie, is a former British title challenger who fought on Sky Sports in the early 2000s, are on the bill for St Andrew's Sporting Club's event on Friday night.

An action-packed evening will be headlined by undefeated duo Charlie Doig and George Stewart, from Dundee and Inverness, who will go for the Scottish Super Featherweight title, and also features Stirling brothers Taylor and Sean.

Taylor will be stepping up to his first six-round contest, whilst Sean, the younger of the two, will be making his professional debut.

Whilst there have been other events held at the venue, this will be Alloa Town Hall's first official licenced boxing event, where fans can also watch Cumbernauld's Scottish featherweight champion, Andy Tham.

After drawing his last contest, Taylor goes into the event with a 3-0-1 record after turning pro just over a year ago.

He will be joined in the professional ranks by Sean, who said: "I am excited to be back boxing and turning professional.

"With my pro debut fight being so close to home in Alloa Town Hall, the first professional boxing in the area for years, I am anticipating a great local support which will only add to the atmosphere and excitement on the night. There is also a unique opportunity for me to be sharing the bill with my brother, Taylor, who turned professional over a year ago.

"We have been training together which helps to spur one another on. I have put the work in and prepared well for my debut fight, so hopefully all the hard work will pay off on the night."

Saltire Boxing Promotions' Iain Wilson, promotor of the Alloa fight night, said: "I’m really excited about the show In Alloa Town Hall. I don’t know how long it has been since a professional show has been in the area, but it’s certainly a long time. The venue is fantastic and the atmosphere will be electric - with only very limited £65 tickets left before a sell out!

"I really hope this is the start of many nights in the future for us and Alloa."
