BRADLEY RODDEN has left Alloa Athletic, with the striker signing for League Two side Stenhousemuir.

Rodden was confirmed to be leaving the club on Saturday, January 6, hoping to secure regular playing time for the current League Two leaders.

Rodden was signed by Brian Rice in July 2022 after impressing during their pre-season run, scoring two goals against Cumbernauld Colts and assisting Conor Sammon in the 2-0 win over Forfar.

In a statement posted on X, Rodden thanked both club and fans for his time at Alloa and looked ahead to his future at Stenhousemuir.

“Buzzing to get started,” he said. “Want to thank everyone at Alloa including the fans, some great memories created and wish them all the best for the season.”

Rodden scored 11 goals in 18 starts and 17 sub appearances during his time at Alloa and currently sits as joint top scorer for this season on five goals.

The 27-year-old was named on the bench during Stenhousemuir’s game against Forfar, a 2-1 win for his new side.

Speaking to Advertiser Sport, Andy Graham wished Rodden the best going forward and conceded he wouldn’t stop any of his players leaving to pursue regular playing time.

“Brad, we wish him all the best,” Graham said. “He wanted more game time and we had an honest chat about it and I’ve got no issues with that whatsoever.

“If that’s what any player is wanting, then no problem at all and we wish him all the best at Stenhousemuir and I said that to him on Thursday night.

“I hope he goes and wins the league winner medal and it’s an acrimonious departure on that front but it’s no different than anybody else.

“If that’s how they feel and they’re wanting more game time, then they’re more than welcome.”

As one forward left the club, another returned as Nathan Cannon was recalled from his brief loan spell at Benburb.

Graham went on to explain that has extremely happy with the squad he had, praising them for their work rate and performances in recent games.

The gaffer previously said that he would only look to add to the squad if further departures took place, but he remains hugely satisfied with the team he has.

“If a good opportunity comes up to bring a player in,” he added. “Then it’s something that we’ll look to do but I’m delighted with the squad.

“Look at who we had missing today: we had David Devine missing, we had Stefan Scougall missing and we have Jon Robertson still coming back, Sammon’s not here today.

“But you still look at the quality we had on the pitch. I’m delighted with what I’ve got here so if that’s what we’ve got until the end of the season then I’ve no issue with that whatsoever.

“Those boys have shown over the last five weeks what they can do.

“In terms of bringing players in, we’ll just need to see how January goes, you never know what’s going to happen and who’s going to become available.

“I’m delighted with the squad I’ve got.”
