RIHANNA MCMINIMEE scored her second hat-trick of the season in Alloa’s 3-1 win against Cumbernauld Colts.

The Wasps put up a confident display against Colts, and despite losing a goal, came out swinging to see out a crucial three points.

McMinimee was on fire from the first whistle, putting Alloa in front inside 24 minutes and giving them a deserved lead at the break.

The hosts pulled a goal back as the game resumed, but the Wasps refused to lie down and fought to the final whistle.

McMinimee got back on the scoresheet to restore Alloa’s lead before notching a third to complete her hat trick.

Manager Allan Milne was thrilled with the result and praised McMinimee for her application and hunger.

“Delighted to get the win,” he said. “It was good to get us back to winning ways and get us back for the last few games of the season.

“After last week, we deserved this result and the way we played was brilliant. We weren’t at our best in the first half but we were winning 1-0.

“They lost the goal but they showed great desire and willingness to come back and win the game. “This is the first time I’ve seen a real togetherness in the squad and a real fight and desire to walk away with three points.

“Rihanna’s brilliant. We’ve seen so much development in her and it’s something we’re going to keep working on and hopefully she’ll get more hat tricks.

“She’s got the ability, the prowess in front of goal, her work rate and fight in front of goal is brilliant as well.

“We’re looking to see how we can improve her and just makes sure she gets better and better, there’s a lot more to come from her.”
