Clackmannan County First XI travelled to picturesque Aberfeldy on Saturday to take on Breadalbane, looking to halt the hosts' recent resurgence in form and continue their own unbeaten league campaign.
On a soft, testing wicket at Victoria Park, Clackmannan captain Blair Campbell lost the toss, with the home side electing to field first in conditions that promised to favour the bowlers.
Openers Tariq Mehboob and David McConchie made a cautious start, with the slow outfield making run-scoring difficult.
Mehboob was quick to punish anything short, striking several fluent boundaries before falling for a well-made 27 with the score on 38 in the 13th over.

Australian Arian Gates joined McConchie at the crease and the pair worked hard to rotate the strike, running intelligently between the wickets despite finding boundaries difficult to come by.
It was not until the 20th over that Clackmannan found the rope again. At the halfway stage, Clackmannan were 62 for 1, with Gates unbeaten on 12 and McConchie on 14, tasked with accelerating the innings during the second half.
McConchie departed for 19 in the 26th over to the impressive T. Perera, bringing fellow Australian Stewart Edwards to the crease.
The pair immediately lifted the tempo, combining sharp running with punishing any loose deliveries as Clackmannan reached 122 for 2 after 30 overs.
Gates continued his excellent form, bringing up his second consecutive half-century in style with a towering six into the trees.

Looking increasingly comfortable on a difficult surface, he anchored the innings superbly while Edwards played with confidence at the other end.
Their partnership carried Clackmannan beyond 150 before Gates' excellent knock ended on 64.
Sai Daddolu made an immediate impact with a brisk 13 before being caught off the bowling of L. Gardiner. With three overs remaining and the score on 174 for 4, Abdullah Rana joined Edwards and produced a blistering late cameo, striking the ball to all parts of Victoria Park.
Clackmannan closed on an imposing 218 for 4 from their 40 overs, with Edwards finishing unbeaten on 39 and Rana producing an explosive 35 not out from just 14 deliveries, including two fours and three sixes.
Following an excellent pizza tea provided by a local restaurant, Clackmannan took to the field looking to defend their total on a wicket that continued to offer assistance to the bowlers.
With Rizwan Ashraf unavailable while undertaking a charity cycle from Austria to Switzerland, the new ball was shared by Ali Arshad and Abdullah Rana.
Arshad immediately found impressive swing, while Rana extracted uneven bounce to trouble the Breadalbane openers.

The breakthrough came early when in-form opener I. Jayaweera drove beautifully through the covers for four before attempting to pull the very next delivery from Arshad, only to find Sunil Gutha at mid-wicket.
Breadalbane reached 20 for 1 after the opening 10 overs, having weathered an accurate opening spell from the Clackmannan seamers.
Spin proved decisive as Tariq Mehboob and Arian Gates entered the attack.
Mehboob clean bowled L. Coles with a superb turning delivery before Gates struck twice, dismissing P. Guthrie, well caught at slip by Mehboob, and then removing Breadalbane captain L. Gardiner LBW. Mehboob added a second wicket by bowling D. Eranga, leaving the hosts struggling at 86 for 5 at the drinks interval.
Knowing the required run rate was climbing rapidly, T. Perera and D. Ekanayake launched a counter-attack, taking advantage of the shorter boundary with a series of powerful strokes.
Ekanayake was handed three lives in the field as momentum briefly threatened to swing towards the home side.
With the partnership growing, Campbell introduced himself alongside Sai Daddolu. The skipper made the decisive breakthrough by bowling Perera with a sharply spinning delivery that clipped leg stump.
Moments later, Campbell removed the dangerous Ekanayake for 49, brilliantly caught in the deep by Mehboob, before bowling M. Bezuidenhout the next ball through the gate with another excellent delivery.
Campbell came agonisingly close to a hat-trick when an LBW appeal was turned down, the umpire adjudging the ball to have bounced too high, leaving Breadalbane on 137 for 8.
The Clackmannan captain was not to be denied. In his next over, M. Bridgeman edged a delivery outside off stump and Graham Oliver produced a superb one-handed low catch at slip.
Campbell then completed his second five-wicket haul of the season when A. Bezuidenhout was caught by Gutha at short mid-wicket, sealing a comprehensive 71-run victory.
Campbell was the standout performer with the ball, finishing with figures of 5 for 31. Mehboob claimed 2 for 25, Gates returned 2 for 51, while Arshad's disciplined opening spell earned him 1 for 13.
Rana also deserves significant credit for his economical opening spell, while Mehboob, Gutha and Oliver all held crucial catches that helped maintain Clackmannan's control of the match.
The victory leaves the Wee County on the brink of promotion, extending their remarkable unbeaten league record to 13 wins from 13 matches.
Clackmannan now return to The Arns this Saturday (August 8, 12pm start) for a top-of-the-table clash against Kinloch 2. Victory would all but secure the league title and complete a remarkable campaign with games to spare.
