A CLACKMANNANSHIRE roundabout is set to be closed overnight next week to allow for investigations works to take place.

Bear Scotland will carry out the work to assess the condition of the A977 Gartarry Roundabout.

To allow the project to be carried out safely, a section of the roundabout between the A907 westbound exit and entrance, will shut from 7.30pm until 6am on the night of Wednesday, November 8.

A clearly signed diversion route will be in place with traffic diverted northwest onto the A907 before taking the third exit at Marywood Roundabout and returning onto the A907 eastbound.

The diversion will add approximately six minutes and 3.9 miles to affected journeys.

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These coring investigation works will allow us to assess the condition of these slip roads on the A977 in advance of future resurfacing.

“If you need to use these routes at night over the next few weeks, our advice is to plan ahead and allow a few extra minutes for your journey if necessary.

“We’re grateful to road users and the local community for their understanding.”
